What is PMAY?
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is the Government of India’s flagship “Housing for All” mission. It runs in two tracks:
- PMAY-Urban (PMAY-U / PMAY-U 2.0) for cities and towns, implemented by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA). PMAY-U 2.0: What changed in 2024–25?
MoHUA released new operational guidelines in Sept 2024 that reshape benefits and definitions for affordability. Highlights:
- New verticals under PMAY-U 2.0:

Important: For new loans under PMAY-U 2.0 (ISS), you primarily apply through your bank/HFC (PLI). The PLI validates eligibility and claims subsidy via the Unified PMAY-U portal/CLAP.
